Tell the Chancellor why public transport is important
The Campaign for Better Transport (CBT) is urging public transport users to write to the Chancellor and / or their MP to press the case for public transport in the forthcoming spending review. Public transport is too often seen as expendable when making spending cuts and if users don't make the case for it we may find the facilities we use will be severely reduced or taken away entirely.
The CBT makes its case here. RRUG encourages you to follow its guidelines.
What we do
Rugby Rail Users Group aims to get the best possible train services and station facilities for rail travellers using Rugby station. We work with the train operating companies, Network Rail, national and local government to achieve this.
Recent successes include extra through trains between Rugby and the North West, and an earlier first train to Birmingham on Sunday mornings.
Currently our main aims include:
Maintaining the existing train service levels and improving these where possible
Further improvements to services between Rugby and the North West direct via the Trent Valley line
Later train services back from London and Birmingham on Saturday evenings
Maintaining and improving connections to destinations not directly served from Rugby
